How do I estimate the size of my garden?

You will need to estimate the size of your garden to select the package that is right for you and the measurement we use for this is square meters.

Regular shaped garden

If you have a regular shaped garden such as a rectangle or a square this is pretty straight forward. Using a long tape measure, measure the width across the back of your house from boundary to boundary and the length from the back of your house to the furthest boundary. Then multiply each number by each other to calculate the approximate square meterage of your outdoor space as per the example below.

Irregular shaped garden

If you have an irregular shaped garden we recommend that you use google maps to find your property and trace the outlie of it on to a blank piece of paper. Measure each of the boundary lengths. Using grid paper transfer the shape using 1 square on the grid paper to represent 1m of each boundary length. When the shape has been transferre3d count the number of squares and this will give you the approximate square meterage of your garden as per the example below.
