Your garden is probably the largest room that you have, and with the increased popularity of glazed extensions its probably also the most viewed, even if you never step foot in it!

Just imagine this space as a beautiful view, everchanging with the seasons, a place to relax, entertain, exercise, work or play. A place that elevates your mood when you feel down and envelops you when you need to take a break. The physical and well being benefits from connecting with nature are well documented and by employing thoughtful design rather than the haphazard suggestions from a well-meaning relative or the landscaper you can have a space that brings you daily joy and enhances your life more than you could have ever imagined.

Bespoke design is tailored to you, your needs and your budget. Whether your space is big or small I use a similar process to design, create and grow your garden.

How it works

  • 1. Initial Meeting

    At the initial meeting I visit you and your garden to get a feel for the space and understand how you would like to change it.

    I then prepare a fixed price quotation for the design work.

  • 2. Concept Design

    I undertake a garden survey and more in-depth consultation to gather the information I need to create The Concept Design Pack.

    The Pack will includes a proposed layout, mood boards, suggested materials, plants and accessories, along with 2D and 3D concept design plans for your review and discussion.

  • 3. Detailed Plan

    When a Concept Design has been agreed this is developed to create The Detailed Plan.

    This Plan will include a full cost estimate with all the necessary detailing to start construction, including a masterplan, materials and accessory specifications, technical drawings, planting plans and contractor estimates.

  • 4. Build and Plant

    Using trusted contractors I offer a build service that will take you from the first spade in the ground to the final finishing touches.

    Turning a design plan into a reality can be a complex process and I work closely with the contractors to ensure that the design is translated correctly, timescales and budgets are maintained and the quality of workmanship is excellent.

  • 5. Care and Grow

    All newly planted gardens require some level of ongoing care and to harness the full potential of your investment.

    Creating a garden that you can look after is an integral part of my design process. After the project is complete I provide detailed paper and online care plans combined with teaching days to help build your knowledge and make looking after your garden a joy and not a chore.

Prices

After the initial meeting a fixed price quotation for the initial design work will be sent to you, with fees typically varying between £600 and £2,000 to create a Concept Design.
